About the Author

LaCharmine (L.A) Jefferson is a women’s contemporary fiction novelist and owner of indie publishing company, SQS Publishing. Her debut novel, Unfinished Business, was published in 2009, followed by the spin off to the novel, Reconciliation to Hell, published in 2016. Her fiction work has been inspired by her favorite authors, Terry McMillian, Connie Briscoe, Beverly Jenkins. Her first published piece of creative non-fiction was included in the 2018 anthology, Daddy: A Reflection of Father Daughter Relationships. And her second creative non-fiction is set to be published in winter of 2021 in the anthology, A Widow’s Resilience, in which she shares a part of her personal journey following the tragic loss of her husband in December 2017.

L.A’s writing, fiction and non-fiction, tackles real challenges that women face every day in their lives. From giving one’s heart to the wrong man, going to ends of the earth to save one’s marriage, navigating life after loss, to navigating challenging family relationships. She enjoys developing relatable characters and placing them in real and fictionalized situations for them to navigate through in a thoroughly entertaining experience for the reader.

Today, L.A. is busy with her writing life and lending her publishing expertise to new authors who are looking to bring their fresh, entertaining projects to the world of readers. When she’s not writing, L.A. is serving and working in leadership in her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, reading one of the many books on her bookshelf, hanging with her daughter and granddaughter, and anything else that brings her joy. L.A. lives in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan with her teenage son and their Labrador Retriever mix rescue dog, Honey.
